How Does Six Month Braces Work?
Six-Month Braces uses light forces, nearly invisible clear brackets, and space-age wires that naturally work to position the teeth right where they should be. It’s the same idea as regular braces, but with one important difference: we aren’t trying to fix your whole bite – just make sure you have a great smile.
Are There People This Won’t Work For?
Of course, there are patients who really SHOULD have comprehensive orthodontic treatment, which we also offer with Invisalign.
Patients who might not be good candidates for Six Month Braces may include:
- If you have any symptoms of TMD, or jaw problems, such as muscle pain, joint pain, frequent headaches. Braces might help or make it worse.
- If there’s a big difference in the size of your upper and lower jaws.
- Patients who just don’t have attractive teeth. Sometimes even a straight smile doesn’t look good if the teeth are too small, too big, or badly stained. In this case, porcelain veneers may be a better option.
Is Six Month Braces a New Thing? Is it Safe?
Short-term braces has been around forever, but it wasn’t until space-age wires and almost invisible brackets made it predictably easy to do. We do a proper diagnosis to make sure you’re a good candidate, and all the techniques we use are the same exact ones used by orthodontists in regular braces, too.
How Clear Are Six Month Braces, Really?
Take a look at Giovanna; she has braces on both the top and bottom teeth with the wires in place. And no fuzzy pictures that you can’t even tell – I ENHANCED and SHARPENED her smile in Photoshop to make it even crisper and clearer, but it’s STILL hard to see those braces!
